We completed our summer checklist this past Sunday and wrapped up the summer by taking a little one to the beach. It sure was a beautiful sunny day but HOT..HOT..and super HOT. Despite the cruel heat wave, there came ocean breeze (what a relief!). The little miss had a blast building sand castle and running into water over and over again. Prior to the trip, we had heard about the unusual amount of seaweeds but decided to head out there anyway. They were literally everywhere. Some still fresh and some dried up. I thought they kind of add a special character.
I packed a few essentials such as a beach blanket, a kite (which we ended up not playing), a ball, stuff to make PB & J, chips, water and milk. It was nice to just sit out there, look up in the sky and let go of all your worries for the moment. Can't wait to do this again, perhaps when it is not as hot in about a month.
looks like such a fun fun day! we're headed to the beach this weekend! it says rain on saturday which i hope will turn into sunshine but we're stoked to go nonetheless! :)
how fun! We haven't been this summer yet but hopefully will get a chance to go before the summer is over. There's nothing like summer at the beach; your daughter will have wonderful memories of it.
You guys have had a delightful Summer Nelah. The beach is always fun. I use to love building things with the sand. Glad your daughter had a wonderful time. I love your outfit! You looked so beautiful.
The beach is probably one of the best places to be on a hot summer day Nelah! Great that you get to check this off your list and have a wonderful time at the same time as well :)
It looks like you guys had so much fun in the sun! =D I think little miss had the most fun. I can see she's definitely keeping herself busy with the sand. This is truly a great summer-kind-of-life =)
Wowee, your photos are so spot on. I'm so glad to see the little one in a full swimsuit! Don't know whether you keep her in it every swim session but I just can't make my mind up about all these girls under the age of 10 flouncing around in bikinis. Glad you had such a great time. I can't deal with the heat either. It sounds sad but I'm waiting for the summer to end! How are you doing, Nelah? Sorry it's been so long. Rosemary x
Hi Nelah, I've been reading on and off and I'm glad that we are connected on Instagram now. I've never seen so many seaweed looking like that washed ashore on the beach. I only see seaweed in the form I eat them and in the water itself. I hope these seaweed aren't slippery or they would be dangerous esp when kids run around. Even though it is hot, I'm glad you got to spend quality family time. I love all your cooking posts too. You make cooking look so effortless and beautiful hough of course I know much effort is put behind the dishes.
Have a good Sunday ahead before the dread of week days start.
What a place!! It's beautiful!
