A refreshing breakfast to wake up to

As we all hear over and over again, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I have always been a breakfast lover and rarely miss one for as long as I can recall. I just can't go on if I don't have anything in my stomach, I simply can't function and literally starve. Oatmeal must be one out of the two breakfast items in my book (the other is fruit/yogurt combo).

This particular "Steel cut" oat and I have a love affair for years since I knew of its existence. Its texture is so different than regular oatmeal, I feel that it is more filling. The only downside is that it takes a very long time to cook, but totally worth every second. This is my kind of breakfast to make on weekends when I don't have to get myself and my little girl out the door in the mad morning rush.

My favorite condiments include: Orange | Dried cranberries | Walnuts (and sometimes banana)

Sugar is not neccessary as there is plenty of natural sweetness from fruit.

  6. Your breakfast is not only yummy but healthy. I really should learn a thing or two from you. My breakfast of milo with oats is usually gulped down in a hurry. I would have my bread or bun when I reach my office. I have to look out for this brand of oats in my local stores. We don;t have many of those brands found in the States.

  8. I love steel cut oatmeal, too! But it does take a long time to make. And my mornings are usually rushed! It looks good the way you serve it here!

  10. I'm a huge fan of oatmeal and practically eat it every day for breakfast. Must try the steel cut version soon. I usually need a quick fix so I have to make do with minute oatmeal. Love that you pair it with so many different fruits!
